Ronaldo claims that this is his “last” Euro and that he won’t play as old as Tom Brady

Cristiano Ronaldo, a former Super Bowl champion, may not match Tom Brady’s success at age 43. In Euro 2024’s Round of 16, Ronaldo missed a penalty against Slovenia but led his team to a penalty shootout victory and a spot in the quarterfinals.

Portugal’s coach, Luiz Iniesta, announced that this will be his final chance to add another Euro title to his 2016 victory. He expressed his excitement for the game, his supporters, and the affection people show for him, despite the emotional impact.

Ronaldo has hinted at not playing at Euro 2028, but has not explicitly confirmed this. The assumption was that he would retire in four years, as it would be rare for a soccer player to play at 43, unlike Brady’s final championship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV at the same age and retiring at 45.

Ronaldo may be involved in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, as he plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and is a key player in Portugal’s squad under new coach Roberto Martinez.

Portugal faces France in a rematch of the 2016 final in Hamburg, marking its most challenging match thus far. Ronaldo stated that his goal is not to leave the world of football but to explore other opportunities and achieve success.

Brady and Ronaldo have been linked for their elite careers, with few athletes having operated at such a high level for such a long time, earning numerous team and individual awards.

The NFL quarterback, now an analyst for FOX, met with Cristiano Ronaldo at a Manchester United game in 2022, where Ronaldo scored a hat trick against Tottenham, and he asked, “You’re done?”

One day subsequently, Brady declared his “unretirement,” stating that he understood his role was “on the field, not in the stands.”

Although he hasn’t scored in these Euros yet, Ronaldo’s positive impact on the Portuguese team’s spirits is undeniable. He hasn’t quite reached that point yet.

The precise time that Ronaldo will finish is unknown. However, we are certain that it will happen in the next four years—at least with Portugal.
