Real Madrid lands in Charlotte to conclude their preseason tour of the USA

Real Madrid has already landed in Charlotte. Following their match against Chelsea, their final opponent on this Soccer Champions Tour, Real Madrid will say goodbye to the USA.

After playing ‘El Clasico’ against Barcelona in their second preseason test, Madrid wrapped up their journey from New Jersey to Charlotte on Sunday. They will play a friendly versus Chelsea to round up their US tour.

Arriving at their third and last site of the tour, the ‘Merengues’ were led by Florentino Perez and included Brazilians Militao, Rodrygo, and Vinicius in a squad that had expanded since the previous trip.

After losing to Barcelona (2-1) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Madrid traveled in the morning hours of late Spanish time.

Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti downplayed the significance of the outcomes, which included two losses in the two tests thus far in addition to the Milan encounter in Chicago. “The result of these games, in my opinion, is not the most important consideration. We’re still providing the players minutes and getting them ready for the preseason,” he stated.

In the first preseason game against Barcelona, Militao and Vinicius played their first minutes; in addition, young players Rafa Obrador, Lorenzo Aguado, and Jacobo Ramon earned their first team debuts. A significant number of young players were also present, including Joan Martinez, Nico Paz, who scored Madrid’s goal, and Mario Martin, who was in the starting lineup.

‘Los Blancos’ stayed in the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte following the charter flight, and on Sunday they will workout at the Atrium Performance Park starting at 18:00 local time.

The Bank of America Stadium will host the match versus Chelsea on Tuesday at 19:00 (01:00 CEST), with Brazilian Rodrygo set to play the first few minutes.
