On Saturday, the eleven-time La Liga winners Atletico Madrid reported that Robin Le Normand has finalized his transfer from Real Sociedad.
Le Normand, who played in every game save one during Spain’s historic run to win the fourth European Championship, has agreed to a five-year contract worth an estimated £25 million.
Last season, the 27-year-old made 43 appearances for La Real in all competitions, with 15 clean sheets and two goals.
After Mario Hermoso, Gabriel Paulista, Stefan Savic, and Caglar Soyuncu departed the team already, Le Normand joins Diego Simeone’s reorganized defense.
The Spaniard was the best-performing player for Sociedad previous season, winning 165 of the 275 contested duels in La Liga with a 60% success rate.
Atletico is anticipated to keep adding players to its roster in all parts of the field; the Spanish team is reportedly interested in Conor Gallagher of Chelsea.
