Barcelona would have to pay €62 million to sign the La Liga player

As has already been widely known, FC Barcelona is working tirelessly to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club.

The Blaugrana are prioritizing the 22-year-old La Liga winger, halting all other options until the Nico operation is completed.

The winner of the UEFA Euro 2024 has been offered a contract; he is debating whether to stay at Athletic or join PSG. Barça is awaiting a response from him and his team.

The cost of operation is €62 million

Nico Williams’ contract with Athletic Club has a €58 million release clause, as has already been reported. Barcelona is ready to activate this provision as soon as the Spanish international gives the go-ahead.

The Catalans would have to pay a total of €62 million to sign the speedster, though, according to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo.

This is due to the fact that the winger’s €58 million release clause will require a matching increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Barcelona is certain that all the necessary arrangements are in place to enable them to pay that sum, and Nico has received confirmation from the sports department that his registration won’t present any difficulties.

In fact, Deco has been assured by the board of directors that everything is under control and Nico may register for La Liga without any issues.

The Catalan powerhouses are still awaiting Nico’s ultimate decision, which might come at any time.

In order to incorporate the forward into Hansi Flick’s team as soon as possible, the Camp Nou offices would prefer to see a favorable result as soon as feasible.
