Cristiano’s performance at Real Madrid was unparalleled

Toni Kroos said after he left the professional football league that Cristiano Ronaldo was not the same player he was at Real Madrid.

After Cristiano Ronaldo left the Spanish city, German football player and recent retiree Toni Kroos said that “things were never the same” for him and his former Real Madrid teammate.

The former midfielder called the Portuguese striker a “success addict” and expressed confidence that he “also sees it the same way” in an interview with the sports magazine “Kicker,” which was released on Monday to coincide with his candidacy as the German player of the year.

Even though he chose a more premature retirement, Kroos remarked of the longevity in performance displayed by Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo that both “choose to enjoy football for a little while longer rather than stopping at the top, like 95% of all players, and that’s a wise decision.”

When his side lost to Spain in the quarterfinal, the German acknowledged that his body had “deprived him of the chance to play extra time as he had done the last 90 minutes” and expressed his “extreme rage” over it.

“My left thigh hurt, followed by my calf and adductors. I was unable to. I was so mad, man. My leg wouldn’t follow my head, even if my head wanted to,” he remarked.

The former Real Madrid player disclosed that although he has received “many offers” to serve as a football pundit on television, his active career “is still very recent” and he has not yet given “anything serious” thought.

“I would rather be somewhere where the focus is entirely on the game than to sit at a desk and ponder over this and that. No disagreements, no rumors about transfers, and no conversations between coaches. only evaluating and elucidating game scenarios. That seems intriguing,” he concluded.
