Highlights of Euro 2024: England and Denmark, the underdogs, tie 1-1

Despite starting the competition as the favorites, the Three Lions will have to wait to formally secure their berth in the knockout stage after Denmark battled Euro 2024 favorite England to a 1-1 stalemate on Thursday.

After a deflected cross from Kyle Walker, Harry Kane opened the score in the eighteenth minute, marking the record 13th major tournament goal for his nation.

But Morten Hjulmand’s first international goal, one of the tournament’s most spectacular goals, gave Denmark an equalizer in the 34th minute. At over 24 yards from goal, it was the tournament’s longest goal.

Even though they were starting as underdogs (+260 to draw, +450 to win) on BetMGM, Denmark outperformed heavyweight England in terms of passes completed, tackles made, and forcing more corner kicks.
