Spain defeated France 2-1 in Euro 2024 to get to the final

Lamine Yamal became the youngest goal scorer in the history of an international competition, and Spain advanced to the Euro 2024 final.

With a 2-1 victory over France, Spain advanced to the Euro 2024 final, where 16-year-old Lamine Yamal became the youngest goal scorer in UEFA Euro history with a wonder goal.

With their first goal from open play, the team led by Didier Deschamps gained an early lead in Munich when captain Kylian Mbappe’s cross was headed in at the back post by Randal Kolo Muani.

Favorite Spain, though, responded through Yamal, who cut inside and curled a shot that swerved and ended up in the net off the left post.

Four minutes later, Dani Olmo scored his third goal of the match after driving into the box, completing the comeback.

At the main final on Sunday in Berlin, Spain will take on the victors of England vs. the Netherlands, which concluded on Wednesday.

Yamal makes all the news

In his first five games in the European Championships, the adolescent player had already set a record with four assists.

Yamal put an end to any doubts about his ability to perform under pressure when he generated the game’s first opportunity four minutes in. An unmarked Fabian Ruiz met his raised cross and headed over from point blank range.

After Spain fell down, the winger picked up his intensity and, in spite of four players encircling him, fired a fantastic 25-yard strike into the goal.

Being the first player to score in open play against France during the competition, he served as the ideal spark for Spain to seize the initiative and win the game.

Upon reaching the final, man-of-the-match Yamal expressed his happiness. “We were in a difficult situation, so you wouldn’t predict a goal that early. Right now, winning it is the most important thing. I’m glad I was able to place it where the goal was made. All I want is to succeed repeatedly.”

Olmo is emerging as an improbable Spanish side hero

Olmo, a midfielder with only one Euros match start, started against France in place of injured Pedri, who suffered a tournament-ending injury following a tackle by Toni Kroos.

Spain’s Olmo scored a goal to give them a lead in a match against France. It was his third goal of the competition, and it took a bit off Jules Kounde’s leg. Olmo, who has become the leader of a Spanish team moving away from their traditional ‘tiki-taka’ style, believes they are close to the final and deserve glory.

France plays with greater latitude but is unsuccessful

Throughout the Euros, a lot of talk about France centered on how the team’s remarkable lack of attacking skill had hurt them.

Mbappe, who had broken his nose in Austria’s opening match, discarded his mask to improve his performance, setting up the game’s opener with a brilliantly floated cross after the team failed to score a goal.

French side France displayed a limited attacking threat but managed to score a goal. Trainer Deschamps acknowledged Spain’s superior control and technique, stating they deserve to win the match.
