The La Liga president could be suspended if the Real Madrid grievance grows more widespread

Although Real Madrid and La Liga have been at odds for some time, Los Blancos’ official complaint against Javier Tebas has been the latest source of hostility between the two teams.

Tebas has not had a good connection with Florentino Perez throughout the years, despite being an outspoken supporter of the Merengues.

The president of the league could be suspended as a result of Real Madrid’s complaint over the Super League.

Movements resume

The Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) has initiated Tebas’ case in relation to Real Madrid’s complaint, according to a recent AS article. They consider it to be a grave issue for which there may be extreme measures.

According to the Spanish media, the regulatory body has the option to suspend Tebas if they so want. Following Pedro Rocha’s disqualification, it is not completely out of the question that Tebas may be subject to the same penalty.

The history

The tale of Real Madrid’s grievance against Tebas dates back to the scandalous CVC agreement that rocked the football community.

Tebas concluded a deal with CVC to sell a portion of the league’s television rights in exchange for an upfront payment of €2 billion and a gradual payback schedule spread out over the following 50 years.

It should come as no surprise that clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona did not like the notion. Tebas went ahead and sealed the deal in spite of resistance from the reigning champs.

Without delay, Florentino Perez and associates launched a lawsuit against the president for making the significant decision without consulting the clubs in question.

Although La Liga first withdrew from the accusations, the issue against Tebas was renewed in December when the parties met again. The last blow may now be on its way.
